Cerec® One-Visit Crowns

Cerec® (CEramic REConstruction) technology plays an important role in our practice. Dr. O'Donnell is a certified Cerec® provider in Alpharetta. This remarkable innovation in chairside dentistry gives us the tools to design, create, and place crowns, inlays and onlays in a single visit.

A Crown in a Single Appointment?

It is possible! Most Cerec® restorations can be completed in one visit - which also means no messy dental impressions or temporary restorations. You leave our office with the finished result - a beautiful restoration that is custom-designed to support your bite and complement your smile.

Cerec® Restorations vs. Traditional Fillings

Tooth enamel is the hardest substance in the body. Damage caused by decay or trauma weakens the tooth because enamel has been compromised.

The ideal approach is to restore the tooth with a material that is as strong as enamel, while maintaining as much natural tooth structure as possible. In many cases, Cerec® restorations are a better choice than a traditional filling, because of the more durable nature of Cerec® materials and the precision of the CAD-CAM design/milling process.

How does Cerec® work?

Cerec® employs a special camera to take an accurate picture of the damaged tooth. This optical impression is transferred and displayed on a computer screen, where Dr. O'Donnell uses 3D software and CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) technology to design and mill the restoration while the patient waits. Finally, Dr. O'Donnell bonds the new restoration in place.

Proven Technology

With two decades of clinical research and more than 20 million restorations performed worldwide, Cerec® has proven to be a an effective, safe and convenient technology that we are delighted to offer to our patients.

If you are too busy for multiple dental visits, Cerec® may be the solution for you.
